Dassies

Sponsor our group of five juvenile Dassies. One of these youngsters was rescued after being picked up by a member of the public’s dog and carried into their home, after which it was safely brought to us at CROW. Dassies primarily feed on plant material such as leaves, fruits, and bark, and they have specialised teeth designed for grinding tough vegetation. They are also well known for their sunbathing behaviour and can often be seen basking on rocks or ledges, lying flat with their backs exposed as they soak up the warmth of the sun.
